Cecil B. Moore was a Marine Corps veteran, specifically,  a Montford Point Marine, a member of Philadelphia's City Council and led the Philadelphia NAACP. A plaque, with much information provided by researcher James Spady, was placed outside the SEPTA public transit train station at Broad St. & Cecil B. Moore Ave.
